The councillorship of the Social Politics of Modena’s County informs the citizens that the legislation regarding the driving licence for scooters is now officially finalised. From October 1, 2005 all over aged citizens not possessing a valid Italian driving licence, will require a driving suitability certificate (“patentino”), to be able to drive a scooter. All those who will turn 18 within September 30, 2005, will be able to be issued the driving suitability certificate by attending a training course, without any final examination. In this circumstance, the candidate, should present to the Ufficio provinciale del Dipartimento dei trasporti terrestri, (ex Ministero Dei Trasporti - Motorizzazione Civile -address: 41100 Cognento (MO) - Via Galilei Galileo, 224 (telephone number: 059 351211) a valid application form inclusive of the following documentation: -N° 2 receipts of payment for €14,62 on the account number 4028, entitled to “Dipartimento TrasportiTerrestri” ( Imposta di Bollo Roma); -N° 1 receipt of payment for € 5,16 on the account number 9001 entitled to “Dipartimento Trasporti Terrestri Diritti Roma”; - A health certificate, 6 months old maximum, to certify the psychophysical fitness required to be eligible for a regular driving licence, category A - Attendance certificate for the specific training course, followed. This course shall be taken in a driving school, and will not allow more than 12 hours of absence. Those who will turn 18 after October 10, 2005, will necessarily have to take the final exam after the 12 hours course; only permanent residents in Italy can apply.
